Preston Post Office

The old Preston Post Office closed down in 2005 after opening in 1903 and serving the town for 102 years. The building was starting to suffering from dry rot after the many years of being derelict. The imposing grade II listed structure has recently been granted planning to be turned into a 65 room Boutique hotel by Liverpool based Signature Living. work has already started and is expected to last until spring 2018. The building sits on the same square as the Harris Museum and when work is complete it will be called the Harris Hotel.

The building is massive and will require a lot of work to turn it into the hotel as it has a lot of small rooms and offices on one side. Unfortunately I never got I’m before work started to strip the building, but I’m just glad I finally did.
